有聽說明年開始會大規模整修,聽我同事上個月剛去自助回來的說,其實已經有部份開始封閉了。看來真的得趕緊去,免得很多都看不到,要等整修完了。

因為是去工作
不好意思大拍狂拍
也是多數時候還有任務在身
比方說忙著寫領隊工作日誌 記錄行程等等

其實只是小部份因為要進行維修

謝謝你來我家留言,我一年左右沒update blog了,看到居然還有人記得我,真是感動得快流淚....(泣...)
現在都在忙小孩,最近一想到第二隻快出來,忽然開始有那種"迴光返照"的跡象,下個weekend還要挑戰瑞士捲,一定要在四月之前趕快玩玩我的小白。
小孩真的長很快,不過都是一陣一陣的啦,有時又被他氣的七竅生煙,那時就會恨不得他趕快給我長到18歲滾出家門去。 :P 不管怎樣,都是因為他讓為娘的歐洲夢越來越遠,雖然是不會後悔啦,可是看到別人到處趴趴走還是有點羨慕的。
我常常來潛水的,只是沒有留言,畢竟又沒作點心也沒辦法在台北跟你們網聚,有點難插上話。 ^^|||

Just a quick question - Do you have or know of any good Xiao Long Bao recipes (simple)? My girlfriend and i are going to cook for the family and would like to do something that is quite typical of Taiwan. Any suggestions for some great Taiwanese food we can cook for 4 people? Any help would be appreciated... i know you are the cooking/baking guru!

Well, I don't think Xiao Long Bao can be that simple. : ) If you really want to try it, here are some recipe links for you.They are in Chinese, but I'm sure your girl friend would help.
Would you like to try some "SunnyPie's secret recipes" instead? : )
I remember Xui-Jiao (Boiled Dumplings / 水餃) has always been your favorite. Here is the link shows you the way I make myself yummy Xui Jiao whenever I feel like it.
Another recipe is stir-fry beef with green peppers. I have made this for my friends many times during my stays of England. I know all the ingredients are available from the UK local supermarket/food store. And everyone loved it! Give it a try, maybe you will like it too. You can also substitute the beef with chick, pork or even prawns.
Here are also 2 great links for Chinese food recipes in English. One is by Britain's favorite cookbooks writer Delia Smith, the other one is from VedioJug which means you can see how to cook all the food by watching videos! Too bad they only carry how to eat Xiao Long Bao but how to make Xiao Long Bao, darn!
If you feel like to, here is a quick way to make a yummy Asian style dessert. You must have tried it in a Thai restaurant, green beans with saigo in coconut milk (椰汁綠豆西米露).
You will need a pack of peeled green beans (綠豆仁/綠豆蒜). The color turns yellow after the skin is peeled though : ) If you really can't find it, you can use kidney beans instead. Or you can skip this. Just make saigo with coconut milk (椰汁西米露). Or you can use any fruits and turn it into fruity saigo with coconut milk (椰汁水果西米露).
You will also need a pack of Tapioca Ball Pearls (Saigo or 西米露). They are both available from major Asian stores or organic food stores in the UK. You will also need a can of coconut milk which is available from even a local food store / supermarket in a town like Worcester. : )
It's really simple to make. Cook the peeled green beans in lots of water unit soft. Then add sugar, mix well. Chill the green bean soup in the fridge once it's cool down. In a separate pan, boil the water first until boiling, then put in and cook the Tapioca Ball Pearls until soft and turn all see through (no white residue in the center). It might take a little bit of time. Take out the pearls from the water and leave it in a cool corner of the kitchen. How to serve? Put some green bean soup in a dessert dish / ball. Top with some Tapioca Ball Pearls. Then add some coconut milk. That's it.
Cucumber salad (涼拌小黃瓜) is very Taiwanese and easy to make too. Only cucumber, soy sauce, sugar, sesame sauce/paste (you can use peanut butter instead), vinegar, garlic are needed.
A cucumber salad as the starter, a beef dish as the main entree (maybe some plain rice to go with the beef), some dumplings ( If you think it's too much trouble to make dumplings, make fried rice/noodles instead. It also goes fine with the beef), a dessert... should make a quite nice dinner for 4 people, isn't it? Enjoy!
